About Salty Seas

Salty Seas is Yp3d’s browser pirate game, set in a shared ocean inspired by the Caribbean age of sail. You can take the helm yourself or work with a crew, dividing attention between navigation, ship guns and threats on the horizon. Encounters can move from distant cannon fire to a close boarding fight, so a ship’s position is part of the combat.

The sea is a free-for-all where friends can form a group, while other sails may represent rivals. A useful first trip is about handling the vessel rather than immediately seeking a battle: learn its turns, how to use a cannon and how to move around the deck. When you do meet another ship, decide whether you want distance or a boarding opportunity. A crew that agrees on one plan can use its time far more effectively than several people making different decisions at once.

How to play

  • Navigate a warship alone or divide helm and gun duties with a crew.
  • Use cannon fire at range and decide when to close for a boarding action.
  • Fight on deck with the available period weapons while watching nearby ships.

Beginner tips

  • Practice steering and stopping your turn before approaching another vessel.
  • Agree on helm and cannon roles when sailing with friends.
  • Watch the horizon during a fight so a second ship does not catch you unprepared.
