About Heroes of Might and Magic II
Heroes of Might and Magic II is a turn-based fantasy strategy game that connects an adventure map with tactical battles. Your heroes travel with creature armies, collect resources and find places worth controlling. Town development turns those resources into future strength, so a promising journey depends on both what the hero does outside the walls and what the town is preparing behind them.
The slower pace gives you room to plan, but each decision still has a cost. A detour can delay reinforcements, a difficult fight can weaken an army and an expensive building can postpone another useful upgrade. Start with a small scenario and one main hero, learning how movement, recruitment and combat fit together. Before fighting a neutral force, consider whether the reward justifies possible losses. Building a reliable income and keeping your main army supplied is usually more valuable than grabbing every visible prize immediately.
How to play
- Explore the adventure map with heroes, collecting resources and securing useful locations.
- Develop towns and recruit creatures to strengthen your armies.
- Fight turn-based battles using troop placement, abilities and hero magic.
Beginner tips
- Use one main hero for important fights and keep that army well supplied.
- Secure useful income early instead of spending every resource on a single upgrade.
- Avoid costly neutral battles when the reward will not help your next objective.
