THE GAME

About Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem 3D is a classic shooter where an alien invasion turns familiar urban spaces into combat arenas. You work through streets, interiors and other themed levels while collecting weapons and finding ways to open the next route. The environment is part of the appeal: switches, side passages and interactive scenery make it worth looking beyond the enemies directly in front of you.

Its action works best when you combine movement with a little planning. Learn where a level gives you room to dodge, keep track of ammunition and use the equipment available in the original game to solve particular problems. A powerful weapon is useful only if you have the space to use it safely. Explore after a fight, then enter the next section with a clear idea of your health and supplies. Reaching an exit is more important than turning every encounter into a risky sprint.

How to play

  • Fight alien enemies while navigating the original game’s themed levels.
  • Find keys, operate switches and explore side routes to progress.
  • Choose weapons and useful equipment for different threats and spaces.

Beginner tips

  • Check side rooms after a fight for supplies and useful equipment.
  • Give explosive weapons enough distance so they do not damage you at close range.
  • Keep moving through an engagement, but pause in a safe area to plan the next route.
