THE GAME

About Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo: Combat Evolved follows the Master Chief and Cortana into a conflict on an enormous ring-shaped world. Its combat blends human and alien weapons, grenades and close-range attacks, with vehicle sections changing the pace of the campaign. Encounters reward choosing the right tool and using the surroundings, rather than holding down the trigger with one weapon throughout the journey.

Your energy shield encourages a rhythm of engaging, finding cover and returning when protection recovers. Carry weapons that serve different distances, and watch enemy behavior before committing to a push. The original game also offers multiplayer modes with objectives beyond simple elimination. The browser host’s room options include Slayer, team matches and flag or territory-style games, so a familiar map can lead to very different decisions depending on the rules.

How to play

  • Fight campaign encounters using firearms, grenades and melee.
  • Recover behind cover and choose weapons for different ranges.
  • Join browser-hosted multiplayer rooms with maps and configurable modes.

Beginner tips

  • Break line of sight when your shield is depleted.
  • Carry complementary weapons instead of two with the same narrow role.
  • Check the room’s objective before treating it as a Slayer match.

Play in your browser

The web build needs an XISO from your own Xbox Halo copy. Click the game or Focus game to capture the mouse, and use the host’s Xbox-to-keyboard mapping.

Halo CE FAQ

What do I need to start Halo CE in the browser?

Prepare a Halo XISO made from your own Xbox copy, then select it in the desktop launcher’s file picker. The game guide above links to the project’s setup instructions.

Is this desktop Halo project the same as Halo CE Mobile?

They have separate launchers and setup. This desktop build uses an XISO picker and keyboard mappings. Halo CE Mobile accepts ISO/XISO files and offers editable touch layouts and controller input.

Can I move my Halo progress to another browser?

Use this launcher’s save and export instructions before switching profiles or devices. Keep a backup of your game files as well, because a new browser or another Halo project can need its own import.
