About Seedbed
Seedbed is a regional strategy game built around the responsibilities of a governor. You shape transport routes and land, choose where money goes and watch how towns respond. Budget, public approval, research and elections all appear in the game’s interface, making progress a matter of balancing priorities rather than simply placing the largest number of buildings.
The tools let you build rail or roads, work with land and nature and inspect the region at different scales. Begin with a small map and pause time while you understand the budget. A new route or research commitment is easier to judge when you know what the region can afford. Inspect a town, identify one need and make a limited change, then watch the graphs before expanding the policy. The challenge is to keep infrastructure and public services useful without letting ongoing spending outrun the income that supports them.
How to play
- Build regional transport connections and shape the surrounding land.
- Allocate taxes, public-service funding and research money through the budget.
- Monitor towns, approval and regional graphs as time and election terms advance.
Beginner tips
- Start on a small map and use Space to pause while planning your first changes.
- Check recurring service and research spending before committing to a large project.
- Inspect a town and follow its graphs after one change instead of adjusting every policy together.
