THE GAME

About Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley begins with an inherited farm and the freedom to decide what your new life should look like. Clear land for crops, raise animals, plant trees and turn gathered materials into useful equipment. Farming is only one part of the valley: fishing, foraging, mining and combat each provide another way to spend a day and develop your character.

The surrounding community gives that routine a personal side. Residents have their own schedules, celebrations and stories, while the neglected community center offers a larger restoration project. The appeal is in choosing a manageable goal, seeing it improve your farm, and discovering something new on the next trip into town. This overview describes the original game; the linked browser edition offers its own available menus and features.
