About Arx Fatalis Demo · Arxwasm
Arx Fatalis is a first-person fantasy RPG set beneath the surface of a world whose sun has disappeared. Its caves, settlements and abandoned passages make exploration feel close and physical: you inspect objects, manage equipment and look for ways through your surroundings. Combat is only one part of the experience, with conversations and environmental puzzles giving you reasons to slow down and pay attention.
The original game lets you develop a character around weapons, stealth or spellcasting, including magic drawn with mouse gestures. The browser demo is a compact introduction to that style of adventuring rather than the entire quest. Start by learning the difference between moving your view and moving the cursor, then practice interacting with objects before you try to do the same thing under pressure.
How to play
- Explore rooms and passages, examining useful objects and possible routes.
- Switch between cursor, combat and magic modes to handle different situations.
- Experiment with equipment and available rune gestures while solving environmental obstacles.
Beginner tips
- Practice right-click switching between cursor and mouse-look before your first fight.
- Keep useful supplies and check what an object does before discarding it.
- Use HOME for the browser port’s menu, and learn Tab for combat and Ctrl for magic.
Play in your browser
This experimental browser port provides the Arx Fatalis demo. Its controls use HOME in place of Escape; the full original campaign belongs to the complete game.
